Annual Giving Thursday: Charity Poker Tournament

Two days after Giving Tuesday, we’re bringing the community together for Giving Thursday — a night of friendly competition, great food, and collective impact.

Last year we raised $41K with $23K donated to 5 nonprofits (Start Small Think Big, PS 11 Afterschool program, United Voices for Peace, Greenwich Village Chelsea Chamber of Commerce and Venezuelan & Immigrant Aid). This year we want to have even greater impact.

But first, we want your input: what charities/nonprofits do you want to spotlight? 

Share any you’d love to see represented (and why they matter) [HERE]

Here’s what we’re thinking:

• ~5 non-profits/charities - each with 50 tickets they can sell to help raise funds (i.e. $100–$500 per seat brings $5K–$25K raised before any auctions or live-event donations) or bring to their community

• Space to share - short presentations or storytelling tables. People impacted by their work come & speak

• Silent auction or creative ways to raise support/ during the night

• Cocktails, live music, mingling with the orgs - all to help raise awareness

• Culminates in a Michelin-quality dinner by Chef Dani

$100 buy-in gets you chips to play ($20,000+ prize pool)

Winners split their prize: half to non-profits, half to keep

Beginners welcome: Don't know how to play (or need a refresher)? We welcome players at all levels. (21+)

First Thursdays are our signature monthly gatherings—each one centered around a different theme, but always designed to spark meaningful connections across industries. Past evenings have featured AI x Food, Dancers & the Chefs, and a film premiere from an Oscar-winning director.
