Talk 1 - Performance Beyond the Comfort Zone: Discomfort, Adaptability and Leadership
Amy Kilpin, Marketing Director, Board Chair & Endurance Athlete
We’re often told that growth happens outside our comfort zone. But what does that actually mean in practice – and how do we get better at operating when things feel difficult, uncertain or uncomfortable?
Drawing on more than a decade in endurance sport alongside her experience as a business leader, Amy explores what discomfort can teach us about adaptability, confidence and high performance. From knowing when to push and when to adapt, to staying focused when plans change, the session looks at how deliberately stretching the boundaries of what feels comfortable can expand our perception of what we’re capable of – in both leadership and life.
About Amy: Amy Kilpin is an endurance athlete, marketing leader and Board Chair with nearly two decades of experience across start-ups, global organisations and charities. Outside the boardroom, she has completed Ironman triathlons and ultramarathons and climbed some of the Alps’ most technical 4,000m mountains, shaping her unique perspective on performance, adaptability and leadership under pressure.
Talk 2 - HAH (Human+ AI+ Human): What We’ve Learned Building with AI
Greg Kunkel, Senior Partner & Co-Founder, Next Jump
As AI becomes increasingly embedded in how we work, the opportunity isn’t simply to replace what humans do, but to rethink how humans and AI can work together.
Drawing on Next Jump’s experience building with and using AI, Greg will share lessons learned along the way – what has worked, what hasn’t, and how their thinking has evolved through experimentation. At the heart of the session is HAH (Human + AI + Human), a framework developed and used at Next Jump to think about how humans and AI work together, keeping people on both sides of the technology rather than removing the human element.
About Greg: Greg Kunkel is Senior Partner and Co-Founder of Next Jump. He currently leads Perks at Work, an employee perks and benefits platform used by organisations around the world, and most recently led the successful launch of its new mobile app. Coming from a business rather than engineering background, Greg has used the app as a real-world testing ground for experimenting with AI – developing new ways of building with the technology and many of the learnings that underpin Next Jump’s evolving approach to Human + AI collaboration.
